Shiraz Boghani won Hotelier of the year at the Asian Business Awards in 2016. The award was as a result of Boghani’s work with his UK based company Splendid Hospitality Group. The company is in operation since 2007 with Shiraz Boghani as chairman. Splendid Hospitality Group is a private company whose focus is to develop and lavish exclusive hotels. The hotel currently operates 20 hotels, including some of the most luxurious brands inside the UK, classified as 5-star hotels too. The company runs upscale lodges like the Grand Hotel & Spa, Holiday Inn London-Wembley, Conrad London St. James and Hilton London Bankside.
Boghani has worked on limited service hotels since the 1990s. He was one of the first to introduce such idea to the UK. Shiraz Boghani has also founded Splendid Restaurant Groups, a restaurant development company, modeled after the hotel service. The company also focuses on quality and creative design. Splendid Restaurant Groups is still in its beginning stages but has already established three successful restaurant brands. Developing small service lodging with a luxurious trademark is Shiraz Boghani’s priority, however the idea of re-branding occupational spaces stems from one of Boghani’s first projects.
Shiraz Boghani helped develop Sussex Healthcare Limited in its beginning stages in 1985. Sussex Healthcare Limited is a residential service for elderly and health patients with critical neurological conditions such as alzheimers and dementia. Shiraz Boghani has continued the title of chairman at Sussex Healthcare Limited since 1998, and with his help, the company has evolved 18 communal living spaces, each with 500 beds available, spread throughout the Sussex area in the UK. Sussex Healthcare Limited was also awarded excellence inside the healthcare sector at the 2016 Asian Business Awards. The award titled Gold Standard Framework for End of Life Care Award was given to the company whose service is cherished by the Healthcare division where end-of-life patient care assistance often lacks in availability and quality.
Shiraz Bhogani is originally from Kenya but moved to the United Kingdom in 1969. He first worked at numerous accounting firms first, one of them presently known as KMPG, before moving onto real estate. Boghani maintains involvement inside his religious affiliations including participating as member of the Ismaili Community’s National Council. The Ismaili Community’s Aga Khan University continues their expansion of education facilities for Ismaili members worldwide with the help of contributing members like Shiraz Boghani.
