The Human Rights Violations In Venezuela Are Increasing, According To Bradesco’s New Chairman Luiz Carlos Trabuco

Venezuela is under the control of former Hugo Chavez protégé, Nicolas Maduro, but Maduro is not Chavez. Chavez tried to help the people of his country. Maduro is trying to destroy the country by making it a military and dictator hybrid. Mr. Maduro is expelling diplomats from several countries because nations around the world see the damage and suffering, and they want Maduro to stop. Brazil is one of the countries that is opposing Maduro’s political reign. Maduro thinks Brazil’s president is a fool. So, Brazil’s ambassador to Venezuela was just thrown out of the country, and Maduro is doing the same thing to Canada and other countries who oppose his governing tactics.

The big banks stopped supporting Maduro’s government months ago, so Bradesco’s CEO and Chairman Luiz Carlos Trabuco knows how dire the situation is in Venezuela. Bradesco doesn’t have bank branches in Venezuela, but the country was part of the South American trade partnership before Maduro dismantled the government and then rebuilt it in his image.

Brazilian President Michel Temer just sent Venezuela’s ambassador home to even the score, so all exterior political and financial negotiations are off the table, according to Trabuco. Mr. Trabuco is not losing any sleep over not having bank representation in Venezuela, but he has an enormous amount of empathy for the people of Venezuela.

Luiz Carlos Trabuco is an empathetic bank executive. For the past eight years, Trabuco has given the people of Brazil new banking opportunities. Several Bradesco social and environmental programs are helping Brazilians deal with the difficult and outdated government programs that hinder personal growth in Brazil. The list of social projects and new online banking platforms that offer Brazilians a modern way to save and to grow personal wealth gave people around the country hope while the recession tore them apart. Trabuco is not a financial expert by design. He is a student of philosophy and psychology as well as a seasoned bank manager that has only had one employer for the last 48 years.

Trabuco went through the Bradesco’s training program in 1969. He won the admiration of founder of Amador Aguiar. Lázaro de Mello Brandão, the famous Brazilian banker and the CEO of the bank at the time, took Trabuco under his wing. In 1984, Trabuco won VP status, and in 2003, Brandão asked him to take over as president of the bank’s insurance division. While Trabuco was in the insurance business, Bradesco’s profits hit an all-time high, thanks, in part, to Trabuco’s contributions. In 2009, Brandão brought Trabuco back to the bank as president. Mr. Trabuco didn’t disappoint his mentor. Bradesco’s stock is one of the hottest stocks on the market, and the bank continues to expand under his leadership. Bradesco now has branches in the U.S., Britain, Grand Cayman, Argentina and in Germany.

Lázaro de Mello Brandão is turning the Chairmanship over to Trabuco and both men, as well as the other five members of the Board of Directors, are searching for a new CEO. At 68, Trabuco is not eligible to be CEO. The bank put an age cap on the CEO position. But Mr. Trabuco will still be responsible for the growth and profitability of the bank going forward. There are seven candidates for the CEO position and they are all current Bradesco executives according to folha.uol.com.br. The New CEO will take over at the March 2018 shareholders meeting. The seven candidates are Mauricio Machado de Minas, Alexandre da Silva Glüher, Octavio de Lazari, Andre Cano, Josué Augusto Pancini, Domingos Figueiredo Abreu, and Marcelo Noronha.
