Daniel Taub – article recap

After British MP, George Galloway declared the city of Bradford as an “Israel free zone” among other very controversial statements during a speech, the Israel ambassador to Britain, Daniel Taub decided to pay a visit to the city to address the issues. There were so many pleas and invitations for the Israeli ambassador to come and set things straight within their community. During the visit, Daniel Taub will partake in many meetings with the community’s councilors, faith leaders and other significant groups. For safety precautions, his arranged visit was accompanied by very tight security.

Upon first notice, Daniel Taub realized that Bradford as a whole, was a city marked with mixed attitudes and emotions about the recent controversial event. George Galloway’s ramblings that Israeli goods and services, Israeli academics entering colleges and schools and their tourism were unwanted in the city. Even during his short time there, he felt that the real voice of Bradford was not from what he had heard from the mouth of George Galloway, the people there were actually very inclusive towards other groups. This was great news to hear for the Iraeli ambassador, he is of course an advocate for people of all faiths and backgrounds to “live, work and cooperate together.”
